Antiope #227
Antiope #227
Regular Price $15.00Vendor: Funko POP!
Product Type : Funko POP!
Antiope is the best warrior of the Amazons, sister of the queen and in charge of combat training. She has a perfect command of the different weapons and in particular the handling of a bow with which she is able to shoot several arrows at the same time.
Antiope is the sister of Queen Ippolit. Although the two are close, they do not share the same point of view regarding the education of young Diana, daughter of Zeus and entrusted to the Amazons to prepare her for her destiny: to kill the god of war Ares.
If Ippolit prefers to hide the truth from Diana, Antiope is convinced that the young woman must be ready to face Ares. She decides to train him to make her the best warrior the Amazons have ever known. This creates a special bond between the two women, and Diana's grief will be all the greater when Antiope is fatally hit by a German bullet during the invasion of the island of Themyscira...
By the way, the tiara Wonder Woman wears on her head, with the star as a symbol, is Antiope's and we can find it on this POP figurine with the character's effigy. Indeed, Funko pays tribute to one of the Amazons with this POP of Antiope in the middle of a fight.
We can see Antiope jumping, shooting an arrow from his bow. Funko pushed the detail to the point of representing the movement with the ponytail of the young woman who seems to be weightless! On the figurine, Antiope is dressed in her Greek-inspired warrior outfit with a thin dress and many leather straps.
A nod to the film Wonder Woman released in 2017 and from which the scene represented by the figurine is taken, we see that Antiope has three arrows ready to be expelled by the string of her bandaged bow.
